STEM-INTEGRATED ROBOTICS EDUCATION CURRICULUM
Parent/Child Camp – MODULE 1
During this 15 hour, 5 day workshop, parents and their 4th-6th grade children will experience module one of RAIL’s STEM-Integrated Robotics Education Curriculum, designed for fifth grade students. This includes 1 student edition for each child in attendance. Parents and their children will work together in teams to accomplish the module tasks, including completion of the module’s eight lessons:
- Danger Zone
- Primary Programming
- Purposeful Programming
- Terrain Task
- Prime Optimization
- Show Off
- Making Sense
In this module, teams are challenged to build and operate a robot to accomplish a given task. The lessons are designed to take teams through the engineering design process in a scientific context using technology and mathematics to build and optimize their solution. The team with the best solution wins!
The camp incorporates Roborobo Kit 1. Participants may bring their own kit or one will be provided for them to use at the workshop including all materials and batteries.
Workshop Cost: $250 per parent/child team + $100 for each additional child (Ages 9-12)
